The court has rejected Jani Master’s bail request in light of the severe accusations that a female complainant brought against him.

Jani Master, who was detained by police on suspicion of sexual assault, has encountered a legal obstacle. After a few delays, the Rangareddy district court heard the choreographer’s bail petition and denied it, according to M9 News.

On October 14, a Monday, the decision was made. It was recently revealed that the female accuser accused the choreographer of sexual assault, and that Shameer, Jani Master’s nephew, filed a lawsuit against her. The nephew complained that she had physically abused him when they were filming outside in Hyderabad and Mumbai. As a minor at the time, he asked the police to file a case under the POCSO Act, according to the M9 report.

Jani Master was earlier granted conditional release so she could travel to New Delhi for the National Award presentation. However, in light of the accusations of sexual assault against the choreographer, the National Award for Megham Karukkatha from Thiruchitrambalam has been suspended, as announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s National Film Awards Cell.

The statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting read, “In view of the seriousness of the allegation and the matter being subjudice, the Competent Authority has decided to suspend the National Film Award of the Best Choreography for the Year 2022 to Shri Shaik Jani Basha for the film Thiruchitrambalam until further orders.”

Subsequently, the Cyberabad Narsingi police filed a court petition to revoke Jani Master’s temporary bail.

Despite Jani Master’s ban, Sathish Krishnan went on to win the National Award for Best Choreography.

After being accused of rape, the choreographer was taken into custody in Goa. A woman who had been his assistant made a complaint, saying the choreographer had abused her more than once. The victim was charged under the POCSO Act since he was a juvenile at the time.
