The Gaza Ceasefire is Closer Than “We’ve Ever Been” States Biden

After almost ten months of on-and-off sporadic carnage, United States President Joe Biden issued a warning to all the coalitions who participated in the potential Gaza ceasefire deal on Friday not to undermine the efforts.

The US President accommodated the meeting with other countries like Egypt, Qatar has notified that they are closer towards a ceasefire deal “than we’ve ever been”.  Throughout this meeting and declaration the Hamas authorities has shown scepticism.

In a further statement, US President Joe Biden informed that the Secretary of State Antony Blinken was on a visit to the Middle East, among other reasons, this visit will make a significant emphasis that no other party in the region should interfere with the comprehensive ceasefire, along with the hostage rescue agreement that is currently in place. Joe Biden further announced that Antony Blinken will pay intensive attention to conclude the deal.

The suggestions to put up a plan for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement that “narrow the gap” between the two conflicting nations Israel and Hamas, was signed and supported by the US, Qatar and Egypt joint agreement – stated the US president.

The Gaza Ceasefire and Hostage Release Deal

According to the mediators the discussions about the ceasefire and hostage release agreement. For Gaza over two days were “serious, constructive, and conducted in a positive atmosphere.”

US President, Biden informed that the authorities of Egypt and Qatar had provided him with strong backup when he talked to them individually.

The superior authorities have planned for another meeting in Cairo. The meeting will supposedly take place next week with the objective of reaching a final agreement on the terms that are already outlined in Doha.  The technical teams are already assigned to work over for the next few days’ time to put emphasis on the specifics of enacting and strategising the proposed arrangements. It is a well-known cause that the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is navigating his way towards Israel to strengthen the diplomatic efforts.

The Gaza Isreal Attack

Last year, on October 7, an unprecedented attack was executed, resulted the deaths of almost 1200 people and a further 251 individuals were held hostage. In response to this military assault, the Israeli army launched another bout of war and bombing in Gaza to defeat the Hamas.

After that incident according to the Health Ministry which is governed by Hamas, over 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza.

A resolution was made in November, through this agreement 240 Palestinian inmates who were held in Israeli prisons were freed from the prisons. And almost 105 hostages held captive by the Hamas were released in exchange for a week-long ceasefire. According to the Israeli authorities, 111 captives are still detained and assumed that 39 individuals of them are thought to be dead. 

The Measures of Agreements

The beginning phase of the agreement considers  A “full and complete ceasefire” lasting six weeks, the immediate evacuation of the Israeli forces from the densely populated areas of Gaza and the exchange of hostages that includes the women, senior citizens, the sick and wounded for the Palestinian prisoners that are held captive by Israel.  This was already outlined by the US President based on Israel’s  May proposal.

For the second phase, the condition was the permanent end to hostilities by releasing all remaining surviving captives. The third phase of this agreement is planned to successfully transfer the of the remaining deceased hostages to their l;and also the starting of a huge Gaza rehabilitation programme.
