“The Railway Man” Trailer Released : Based on Real Tragedy

“ The Railway Man ” is a Hindi web series , based on a real life tragedy that occurred  in Bhopal on 2nd December 1984. The full name of the series is “ The Railway Man  :  A untold story ” . The tragedy that occurred in Bhopal is a untold story that has lost in the pages of history and the heroes of this tragedy are also lost along with it. This web series told us every thing about this tragedy.

The trailer released on 6th November 2023. You can watch it on “ Youtube ” . 

The web series has 4 episodes in total. The series will be released on 18th November on “ Netflix ” .  If you want to watch it you have to buy a subscription plan on  this OTT platform.

In this series the main Accused of the tragedy ran away and don’t get punished for his bad deeds. So it shows the failure of the system and show that what a common man can do to save his people.

Four man saves so many innocent lives in this tragedy , the story goes around that how the tragedy occurred and who was the culprit , Victims of it and how it effected so many lives. It also effected the inhabitants of Bhopal. Bhopal is the “ Madhya Pradesh ” , that is  a great state of India.

Yash raj films has shown a very great work from so many years , now they are entering on the OTT Platforms through web series. This is their very first web series. 

We can see R Madhavan , Kay Kay Menon , Divyendu , Babil Khan , Priitamm Jaiswal as the main cast of the series. We will see Juhi Chawla along with them after a long time on screen.

Real Story Of Bhopal Gas Tragedy on 2-3rd December 1984 – 

The Bhopal tragedy of gas disaster was a chemical accident occurred on the night of 2nd December 1984. The company name was “ The Union Carbide India Limited ”.  “ Methyl Isocyanate ” is a deadly gas and it was leaked on that day that caused the tragedy.

It is Consider the world’s worst industrial disaster. The number of people that had died is various basis on the sources. The Official data is of 2259 people that had died on the accident. 

People has assumed that approx 8000 people died with in two weeks and more than that it died from the gas – related diseases.

Government of Madhya Pradesh paid compensation to the family members   of  vicitims and also paid compensation to 574366 injured victims.

The UCIL was owned  majorly by UCC ( Union Carbide Corporation) of the united states. The Indian banks and government owned 49.1 % of the company. In 1989 UCC paid $470 million to settle the loss of the factory workers and employees stemming from the disaster. In 1994 UCC sold it’s shares to EIIL ( Evereaday Industries India Limited ). 

In June 2010 , seven Indian nationals who were working with UCIL convicted in Bhopal of causing death and sentenced to two years imprisonment and a fine of $2000 each. But they were released not so long after it. An another former employee was also convicted but he died died before the judgement passes.
