ZOYA AKHTAR’S ADAPTATION
After a long wait, the trailer of the live action musical adaptation of The Archies‘ by the very famous and talented Zoya Akhtar is finally here. The trailer was dropped today on Thursday, finally giving the fans a chance to quench their thirst with a little sneak peek into the Netflix adaptation. Another reason for such excitement for the film is because of the debut of so many new faces in the Bollywood Industry.
In The Archies‘, Zoya Akhtar is going to give kick to the star kids of the very famous and renowned stars of the industry. This film will mark the debut of Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s little daughter Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. This film is also going to introduce the fans with the new upcoming stars, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Aditi Dot and Yuvraj Menda.
The movie explores the classic theme of teenage romance, friendship, and the comedic mishaps that accompany adolescence. The love triangle between Archie, Betty, and Veronica forms the crux of many storylines, creating a delightful blend of humor, drama, and a hint of nostalgia. The gang navigates high school life, tackling challenges, and celebrating the joys of friendship. This Netflix adaptation is directed by Zoya and filmmaker Reema Kagti under the Tiger Baby, Graphic India and Archie Comics production house. Zoya has co-written this movie along with Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre.
This Zoya Akhtar’s Indian adaptation of the classic The Archies’s set backs in the 1960’s. In the trailer we see a fictional hilly town called Riverdale. The trailer showcases the challenges, hardships and the strong bonds of friendship.
