“The Vaccine War” released on 28th september 2023, nearly collected RS 1.50 Crores on Day 3 after its release, the movie had a slow start at the box office. The earnings were Rs 85 lakhs and 90 lakhs on Day 1 and Day 2.
On Saturday (Day 3), the movie collected almost 68% more than the previous day which brings the total collection of the movie standing at Rs 3.25 Crores.
About The Movie
“The Vaccine War” is helmed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Pallavi Joshi. It is a Medical- Drama film demonstrating tremendous efforts of scientists and their team in creation of Vaccine and also honoring the commitments of medical communities during the Covid- 19 pandemic.
The release date was announced on 15th August 2023, India’s 77th Independence Day.Earlier, it was set to be released on 15th August 2023 and then on 24th October 2023.
The film is reportedly released in 11 different Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Gujarati and Bhojpuri.
The makers of The Vaccine War are also marketing the movie as India’s first Bio-Science film.

Story Behind the Plot
The Vaccine War is based on a true story which makes the movie so inspiring. It honors the great efforts by the scientists and medical department who worked during the period of Covid-19 pandemic.
The story is drawn by the birth of Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Virology (NIV).
The film also sheds light on development of the antidote and how the clinical trials of the vaccine were carried out and how it got approved and authorized around the globe.
Vivek Agnihotri – The Director
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is an Indian Film director, writer and producer. He made his directorial debut with the crime thriller ‘Chocolate’(2005). He made several other movies which failed to be successful at the box office.
In 2019 “The Tashkarent files” helmed by Vivek agnihotri received good responses for which he also earned the National Film Award for Best screenplay- Dialogues.
His previously written and directed “The Kashmir Files” was a great success and was also one of the highest grossing movies in 2022.
His upcoming movie is titled as “The Delhi Files” which is expected to release in the year 2024.
“The Vaccine War” Review
The movie didn’t receive a good response at the box office on the first two days after its release but saw a rise in collection on the third day.
The actors are praised for their commendable performances including Anupan Kher’s Cameo.
As of now IMDB ratings stands at 8.4 out of 10, The Times of India have given 2.5 out of 5 to the movie. The theaters have been less crowded as compared to Vivek Agnihotri’s previous release “The Kashmir Files”.
The makers have also announced “buy 1 get 1 offer” on tickets after SRK’s ‘Jawan’.
