Train Accident in Jharkhand: Howrah-Mumbai Train Crashes, 2 Dead

JHARKHAND; The Howrah-CSMT Express was derailed near Rajkharsawan West Outer and Barabamboo within the wee hours of Tuesday morning. En route from Howrah to Mumbai, this train met with a catastrophic derailment around 3.45 am near Sarai Kela in the Potobedda area of Tata Nagar. It is one of the most serious rail disasters that happened recently, with 18 coaches derailed, leading to a great loss of life and injuries to so many passengers.

Preliminary reports indicate that two people were killed in the accident, and about 20 were injured, two of them seriously. Railway officials and emergency teams rushed to the site and provided first aid on the spot and also made arrangements to shift the injured to the nearest medical facilities.

Railway authorities initiated an inquiry, trying to find out the actual reason behind the derailment. A large number of the trains either stand canceled or short-terminated within the affected stretch, severely disrupting train services.
