Recently, in one of his rallies in Butler country of Pennsylvania, an attempt of assassination was made. Trump was shot on his. America’s current President Joe Biden commented on the incident that the politics of US is very heated and Americans should denounce such sick form of violence. After the attack, Donald Trump is still standing tall in the elections and he announced his pick for the seat of Vice President of America, that is, J.D. Vance.

On 13th July 2024, an attempt of assassination of the former U.S. President was made. The alleged shooter is identified as 20 year old Thomas Mathew Crooks. It is told that he opened fire on the crowd from the roof nearby which led to the death of one audience and two others were injured. It is described that he used the “AR Style Rifle”.

The FBI is trying to find the intention of Crook behind the incident. He is a registered republican from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The authorities have found a dozen guns at his home. In a media interview, few of Thomas’s classmate has told about him being an outcast, someone who is always bullied for their appearance and clothing. They also described that he would always sit alone in Lunch break. Both the parent of Thomas have different political opinions and they always have a conflict about their ideas. It is also told that Thomas was very disturbed cause of this conflict between his parents and hence he took this step.
J.D. Vance
Donald trump’s presidential candidate J.D. Vance is told to be a newbie in politics. He is serving as a United State Senator from Ohio since 2023 as a member of the Republican Party. He has written the New York Times best seller: Hillbilly Elegy.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio and married to a girl of Indian origin girl named Usha Chilukuri who herself is a corporate lawyer. He has given his service in the Marines. He graduated from Yale University and worked as a venture capitalist. Vance was anti- Trump vocalist in 2016 but later he joined hands with him. Trump has adorned Vance win as a senator from Ohio.
As a Senator, Vance has embraced economic populism and aligned with Trump’s anti-democratic rhetoric. He has suggested removing government officials, replacing them with loyalists, and ignoring legal constraints if necessary. Vance’s ties to far-right figures and admiration for authoritarian leaders like Viktor Orbán raise concerns about his commitment to democratic principles.
His book “Hillbilly Elegy” actually have a great contribution towards his victory. This book basically explores Vance’s worldview is shaped through his struggles with poverty, family instability, addiction, etc.
Vance’s selection as Trump’s VP pick caps a meteoric political rise. At age 39, he would be one of the youngest Vice Presidents in history. Vance could help shore up Trump’s support among White working-class voters in the Rust Belt. However, his embrace of authoritarian ideas and willingness to undermine democratic norms make him a concerning choice for the second-highest office in the land.

His book “Hillbilly Elegy” actually have a great contribution towards his victory. This book basically explores Vance’s worldview is shaped through his struggles with poverty, family instability, addiction, etc.
His book received many criticisms for generalizing the Appalachia people. Critics say that Vance only spent summers in the Appalachia region and doesn’t hold the authority to speak for the entire Appalachian community. This book was also accused of blaming the poor for their own misfortune instead of properly addressing the issues like economic and racial disparities. Away from all the criticism, Vance’s book “Hillbilly Elegy” was adapted into a Netflix film in the year 2020 by director Ron Howard.
