Forward to 2024 a chilling transformation took place as the young man went from an apparently harmless person to a would-be assassin, when he travelled for an hour from his home and fired a barrage of bullets at the former President of the United States, Donald Trump.

It was found out that Thomas Crooks might’ve been a victim to merciless bullying by his peers in the school. He was known for his love of hunting gear and video games, but these hobbies did little to shield him from the cruelty he endured.

Yet, the classmate also noted that Crooks’ demeanour was that of a loner.

Despite not being featured in the school yearbook, Crooks’ innate academic gifts were recognized through the prestigious $500 National Math and Science Initiative Star Award, a fitting testament demonstrating the immense potential and that of an emerging scholar.
When CNN attempted to contact his father late Saturday night, the father expressed shock and bewilderment, stating that he was trying to “figure out what the hell is going on” as he awaited further communication with law enforcement. The father’s state of confusion and disbelief mirrors the broader sentiment of a nation left reeling from Crooks’ violent attempt at political assassination.
