Around 9:30 a.m. local time, the attackers showed up at the area in a light commercial vehicle. One of the attackers set off an explosive device, and the other was later taken out by security personnel.

The terrifying minutes preceding the explosion are shown in security footage of the incident that Reuters was able to get. Two people get out of the car as it slowly approaches the gated entrance to the building. Unknown if they were armed, one of them assumes a tactical stance while the other hides behind the car. An explosive explosion happens as the attacker moves swiftly towards the door.

Before the 40-second video tape ends, a man that looks to be the first attacker can be seen going in the direction of the gate among the smoke.

The blast caused minimal damage to the guard tower in front of the building’s entrance. The area was closed off by the police after the incident. Footage showed a bomb squad looking for any further suspicious parcels. Television video showed a bomb found on the terrorist’s body being safely detonated in a controlled explosion.

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc’s remarks

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said that such attacks won’t way hinder Turkey’s fight against terrorism, he also added that their fight against terrorism will continue even more determinedly. Tunc announced that an investigation into the incident had been launched.

The bombing happened just a few hours before lawmakers were supposed to start reporting back to work at 2 p.m. following the summer break. Following the assault, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke to the legislature, promising to maintain Turkey’s steadfast struggle against terrorism until every terrorist has been neutralised both at home and abroad.

“Vile people did not reach their goals”, President Erdogan

President Erdogan said that vile people who took aim at the peace and security of our citizens did not reach their goal, and they never.

No group had taken responsibility for the attack as of Sunday afternoon, forcing officials to step up their investigation into the people or groups responsible for this frightening act of violence.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the continuous difficulties Turkey has in trying to uphold peace and security within its borders. The nation is steadfast in its desire to fight and battle terrorism, both at home and abroad, despite the carnage and disruption these attacks bring.

Turkey continues to place a high priority on the security and well-being of its inhabitants, and the administration is dedicated to taking all necessary precautions to defend its citizens from such dangers. In these trying times, the world community joins with Turkey in expressing its solidarity by denouncing terrorism and supporting efforts to promote peace and security.
