Terror is at it again in J&K: Addition of 2 more attacks

Last night, two civilians were killed in Khatua, and an army base was attacked. The region of Jammu and Kashmir is on high alert due to increased terrorist activity.

The Reasi incident saddened the nation 3 days ago, citizens brought up condolences and concerns, and Platform X was full of them. The country didn’t even recover from the grave loss and the terror in Jammu struck again, This raises questions of what caused the present violence, which group is behind it, and after the Reasi incident why wasn’t the surveillance on the state heightened up, and what is the government doing this time about Jammu’s unstoppable terror tale. 

What happened in Khatua?

On Tuesday, 2 militants were seen asking for water from the household of a father and son at Seda Sohal village of the Hiranagar sector. The terrorist attempted to choke the son which led to the father and son fleeing the site while chasing them terrorists open-fired. In between all the Special Operations Group acted up and hunted down one of the terrorists, which was later confirmed by zonal police. Security forces are employing drones as surveillance tools to track down the other one. 

The suspicious movement of around 3 persons at 7.45 pm, three gunshots were heard fired by the terrorists activating the security response as the nearby villagers informed them.   

Earlier that day, three were held as over-ground helpers of LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) from Pulwama district with explosive devices, according to officials.

ADGP Jain has been in charge of supervising the terrorist activities in Kathua now that the area is safe and officers are conducting operations to ensure security. He also termed the attack in Kathua as ‘Fresh Infiltration’ and accused neighboring country Pakistan of dismantling the peace of our nation. 

Doda Terror attack 

The terrorists in Chhatrakala, Doda (Jammu) shot down an army temporary operating base on the 11th of June, Tuesday. 

The shooting resulted in the death of one of the terrorists and an injury to a civilian, according to Anand Jain, Jammu’s Additional Director General of Police. Jain also clarified the rumors of killing and injuring several civilians.

A terrorist was neutralized in the Kathua district operation, hours after the attack on the Doda base camp was held. Six security personnel were injured in this encounter including a civilian while a terrorist was killed. The injured were taken to Bhaderwah Hospital while a CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) security personnel is said to have been killed in this encounter.   

 There are reports of 3 or 4 terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in a mere 3 days, which raises alerts as civilians are getting injured and killed with no clues of the militant’s motive or whereabouts. 

A terrorist group named The Resistance Front (TRF) has taken responsibility for the Raesi Attack; the group is a part of LeT (Lashkar-e-Talib) commanded by Abu-Hamza according to the officials. These attacks have been occurring in areas that were once free of terrorism, which is a matter for security forces and the government to look into. 

The investigation and search of these militants are ongoing and fear of attacks on innocent civilians is striking up among officials and countrymen, however, the search for and arrest of threats is being carried out on board.
