Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray visited Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in the national capital on Thursday during his three day visit to Delhi. Uddhav Thackeray was accompanied by his son and party MP Aaditya Thackeray, along with party leader Sanjay Raut. AAP MLAs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha were also present.

Uddhav Thackeray extended full support to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal
Speaking about the meeting, MP Sanjay Singh said that the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra supports Sunita Kejriwal’s parents and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
“Former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, along with his son Aaditya Thackeray and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut visited parents Sunita Kejriwal and Arvind Kejriwal. In the case of Arvind Kejriwal, for the first time in Indian judicial history, his release remained without a copy of the order. A fresh case was filed against him and he was arrested. The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption case. The court said that the arrest of Delhi President Arvind Kejriwal cannot be termed as unjustified. In this case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sought some time to hear his plea for cancellation of Kejriwal’s bail.
The Delhi High Court has asked the ED whether the bailout of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will result in his arrest. The court’s inquiry is to clarify the consequences of ED’s claim to cancel the fund. This case is adjourned to 5 September 2024.
Uddhav Thackeray meets with Opposition Leaders

On a three-day visit to the national capital, Thackeray is meeting opposition leaders in preparation for the state assembly elections later this year. The government is likely to vote for 288 members of parliament by the end of this year as the current government’s term ends in 2024. However, the Election Commission is yet to announce the day.
In the recent 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP’s seats in Maharashtra decreased from 23 in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with 26.18% of the votes. The Congress marginally improved its seat share, with 13 seats in the state. Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won seven and one seats respectively, taking the total to 17 seats. Shiv Sena (Udhu Balasaheb Thakrai) won nine seats, Nationalist Congress party Sharadchandra Pawar eight seats.
