People especially the Indians have been thinking funny about a story published by a foreign magazine, about heat wave alert in the United Kingdom at 26 degrees centigrade.

The temperatures in India rise up to 40 degrees during summer, which is significantly different from the heat wave alert in United Kingdom where even 26 degrees was considered hot. This disparity has not gone unnoticed and it was followed by a series of Indian jokes on micro blogging site Twitter. The UK recently issued a heatwave alert at 26 degrees Celsius and this has been a joke in India where people mostly find such temperature to be moderate and even enjoyable.

Heatwave Warning of the United Kingdom At 26Degree Celsius

According to The Mirror report, the UK issued a heatwave warning for temperatures touching up to 22 degrees Celsius by the end of June. The UK-based outlet tweeted on X (previously known as Twitter), “UK to be blasted by 48-hour 26C heatwave with five cities in England the hottest,” accompanied with the link to its report. This post gained tremendous traffic within no time and several witty and amused Indian users replied to it.

While going through the post by a foreign publication that highlighted a heatwave alert in the United Kingdom where the temperature was up to 26-degree Celsius and five cities in England on the hot list, the IFS officer could not resist tweeting his comments.

It is quite amusing that Parveen Kaswan not only said that the weather in the UK is ‘pleasant’ but also said that temperature is ‘two degrees above the default AC setting in India’.She further wrote in a tweet, “That is just two degrees above the default air conditioning setting in India. A pleasant weather it seems,” while reposting the Brit tabloid ‘The Mirror’.In its post, Mirror included a link to the report on UK weather indicating: “The UK to be blasted by 48-hour 26C heatwave with five cities in England the hottest.”

The Mirror US also chipped in to share a light-hearted take on the post by The Mirror, and in their comment they wrote, ‘Okay, but this is an actual heatwave,’ This was followed by a link to a piece on the weather in the States Some parts of which are now facing ‘90-degree temperatures’.The Mirror’s response music was, “Looks like our American friends have a slightly different concept of ‘hot’.”

India’s Heatwave Crisis
