Ukraine’s Pokrovsk Could Be Claimed By Russian Troops

There is a high chance of Ukraine getting attacked by the Russian troops. It was notified that the town of Pokrovsk has a crucial role as a logistics and strategic hub that is hugely utilised by the Ukrainian forces. Pokrovsk is located in the eastern region of the country, in the Donbas area.  Also, the Ukrainian region has an important and key railway station that connects junctions and intersections of various vital crossroads. 

It is said that the Russian army has been waiting for months to fulfil this attack. They were building the troops and sought the best possible moment to seize the town for months before. Probably after the Ukraine attack on Russia, the Russian troops seemed to increase the pace of their invading strategy this month. The officials disclosed the alarming news of the Russian army being now less than 10km (6 miles) away from the town. 

Before And After The Ukraine War

Previously, before the war, this Pokrovsk region of Ukraine was home to almost 69,000 people. There were many people caring about a profession in coal mining a better infrustracral workers like machine building and metallurgy. 

However, as soon the information of the Russian’s advancement towards the Pokrovsk was revealed thousands of people fled from their homes, including families with kids were ordered quick evacuation to a safer place. The warning was disclaimed last Monday, by Serhiy Dobriak, the unrest was created as they all had just a week or two to leave their homes to find shelter in a safer area. 

The Failed Ukrainian Strategy 

Ukraine invaded Russia’s Kursk region and has been making its advancement for the last two weeks. The strategy was thought to be capturing the Russian territory to redirect the Russian armies away from the Ukrainian eastern advances. However, seeing the Russian advancement towards the Ukrainian eastern region, doubtlessly the strategy has failed to obtain. Rather in contrast the the Russian planned invasion in the eastern and the city of Toretsk northeastern region of Ukraine has now amplified.

If the Russian army harms the eastern front region, the nation would be highly wounded because most of the resources, supplies, the backup troops provided to the armies, are from this town’s on-road and rail track infrastructure.  

If Russia seizes the Pokrovsk area these connecting problems will arise. Crucial and necessary military tasks for the Ukrainian military will be incredibly hard to attain. 

Furthermore, the invasion of the Pokrovsk region will initiate more damage to other strategically important towns of the nation. The national authority is fearful about the invasion of the city of Chasiv Yar, the city is top ranking in commanding heights which will give the Russian troops a wider area of control throughout.
