The US final week stopped a bomb shipment for Israel over concerns it was going ahead
with a major ground operation in Rafah, southern Gaza, a senior organization official says.

The shipment comprised 1,800 2,000lb (907kg) bombs and 1,700 500 lb. bombs, the official
told CBS News, the BBC’s media accomplice in the US.

Israel has not “completely tended to” US concerns over compassionate needs of civilians in
Rafah, the official says. Israel made no prompt comment.

Concerns raised over potential Israeli ground operation in Rafah, Gaza

Overnight, there were encouraging Israeli discussions of strikes in the Gaza Strip, hours
after Israeli powers sponsored by tanks took control of the key Rafah crossing on the border
with Egypt.

The Israeli assault has been especially serious around Rafah. Nearby doctors say seven
individuals of one family were slaughtered in one overnight strike.
Rafah has been a key section point for help and the as it were exit for individuals able to
