Varun Dhawan mockingly refers to Karan Johar, the host of the show, as “Karan Johar ghar tode” in the most recent Koffee With Karan 8 promo. Varun will be seen in the next episode alongside co-stars Sidharth Malhotra from Student of the Year and Janhvi Kapoor from Bawaal. While serving as assistant directors on Karan Johar’s movie My Name Is Khan, Varun and Sidharth discussed their dating experiences. Karan revisits this conversation from KWK Season 4 during the show.
Karan Johar will be seen revisiting a scene from KWK season 4 in the upcoming episode of KWK season 8.
A clip from an earlier episode of KWK has gone viral recently. In the video, Karan can be seen making fun of Varun and Sidharth’s romantic relationships while filming his film. Varun and Sidharth appeared in KWK Season 4 alongside Alia Bhatt. In the widely circulated video, Karan can be heard saying, “Let us talk about what happened on My Name Is Khan.” Both of them served as assistant directors on the movie set. The boys formed a close bond with something during the process of making My Name Is Khan. One of my colleagues, Karan Malhotra, spent every day working on the set and got along well with Varun and Sidharth. This was his opinion of them.
Karan Malhotra revealed information about Varun and Sidharth’s dating lives in Los Angeles while filming My Name Is Khan in a video message. “I had a disastrous first impression of Sidharth and Varun,” he remarked. I knew they would both become actors when I first saw them, but as time went on, they developed as individuals and ADs and showed that they were also capable of becoming talented actors.
One day, while we were filming My Name Is Khan in Los Angeles, a girl from the costume department showed up on the set with a large box of doughnuts. We asked her, ‘Who are these for?’ She addressed Sidharth. And that is where the doughnut exchange began. Varun had also begun to hunt for a costume of his own. He would show up on the set and begin to flirt with the costume assistant. Sidharth is a serious, sober guy, and Varun is more of a crazy guy with more masti in him. I believe that is where they differ from each other.”
Subsequently, Karan Johar revealed that Varun and Sidharth were dating costume department girls. Varun’s girlfriend at the time was fired from the movie, Sidharth also revealed. Varun then explained that she left the movie because she had become sick.
Varun also revealed during the chat that Sidharth’s girlfriend travelled from Los Angeles to Mumbai once the movie’s production was completed. “Sidharth got her flowers and everything,” he remarked. They were with me. Sidharth is a committed partner who avoids hanky-panky. Thus, one day he said, “I am not sure where this is going.” Varun’s account was partially refuted by Sidharth, who declared, “Nothing like this happened.” But the actor did confess to purchasing her flowers. According to Sidharth, “She made LA a really fascinating place to be.” She made sure we went out to party every night.”

The digital content division of Karan Johar’s production company Dharma Productions, Dharmatic Entertainment, produces the Indian talk show Koffee with Karan, which is hosted by Johar.
