0

Introduction

There has been a noticeable rise in Indian students seeking higher education overseas in recent years. The reasons behind leaving from domestic institutions have come under scrutiny in light of this trend. Even though India is home to many esteemed universities and colleges, more and more students are opting to pursue their education abroad.

Indian Parents are very possessive about the education of their child, they do a lot of hard work and gather funds for giving the best education to their children, and for doing this they may even spend Crores of money to send them out of the country to one of the best universities in the world.

Worldwide Acknowledgment and Quality Education

The appeal of elite universities and internationally recognized degrees is one of the main factors encouraging Indian students to study overseas. Data from the Government of India’s Ministry of External Affairs indicates that more and more Indian students are choosing to pursue higher education abroad, with a sizable proportion going to the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany. These countries are well known for their top-notch research facilities and universities, which provide unmatched academic opportunities.

Wide Range of Specializations and Course Offerings

The variety of programs and specializations offered by international universities is another element that adds to their appeal. Indian students can customize their education to fit their unique interests and professional aspirations by choosing from a wider range of subjects and interdisciplinary programs offered overseas. The Indian Ministry of Education claims that many students are looking into international options because those programs are more widely available and comprehensive there. This is because of the demand for specialized courses like data science, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy.

Jobs and Worldwide Networking

With the global job market getting more competitive, Indian students understand how important it is to get an international education in order to improve their chances of finding employment. Studying overseas offers chances for global networking with industry professionals, internships, and cooperative education. According to data from the Reserve Bank of India, many Indian students decide to stay overseas after graduating, drawn by attractive job offers, comfortable workplaces, and chances for career advancement. Multinational firms place a high value on adaptability and cross-cultural competence, which are developed via exposure to various cultures and work practices.

There are few GeoPolitical reasons that influence the students decision to go abroad for higher education

1. Global Power Dynamics: Powerhouse nations in politics and economy include the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. These countries’ supremacy in a number of areas, including education, draws Indian students looking to connect with powerful people and take advantage of favorable opportunities.

2. Diplomatic Relations: Good diplomatic ties frequently result in policies that benefit Indian students, like expedited visa procedures, financial aid, and joint research opportunities, which increase the accessibility and allure of studying overseas.

Although studying overseas offers many benefits, there are drawbacks and things to keep in mind as well. Homesickness, financial limitations, cultural acclimatization, and visa requirements are a few of the frequent challenges  for Indian students traveling abroad for higher education

And it’s not hidden from anyone that our students do face racism and other discriminatory issues while living there. They are often bullied and being troubled because of their race and color. Due to this,  the number of deaths of Indian students abroad has increased.
