Why is this election so important? Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose power is well entrenched is expected to secure his seat for three times continious in a row. Will he secure the seat this time as well?
During his term Prime Minister Narendra Modi has potrayed himself as a powerful people’s leader by building highways, improving india’s overall image in the global view. But what about the internal conflicts? The Modi government during it’s tenure have been observed propagating the rightist agenda through the ideology of “Hinduvta.”
“The government has induced inflation beyond limits, at this rate we cannot afford basic necessities, we cannot feed our children, we were promised that our lives wouldn’t be confined to the torn walls of the “jhuggis”, we would be given jobs, yet after almost 10 years of ruling barely a thing has changed”

Instances of communal violence- Lok sabha Elections 2024
On September 3, 2023, the Sakal Hindu Samaj organised the Virat Hindu Jan Akrosh Morcha in Chandwad City, Nashik, where far-right speakers delivered hate-filled speeches against Muslims. These speakers peddled conspiracy theories and openly called for violence. “The green grass has overgrown! It isn’t thrown out, then it’ll give you a lot of problems later on.” one of the female speakers said.
In Kaithal, Haryana, leaders of the Gau Raksha Dal promoted hatred towards Muslims in the Mewat region and justified the use of violence by cow vigilantes.
In a disturbing incident in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Mahant Balaknath Yogi, a BJP Member of Parliament from Alwar, delivered a hate speech during the Virat Hindu Sangam event. He made explicit threats towards non-Hindus by saying that “Sanatan will slay the head of those Adharmis” who to try break the unity of humanity.
It’s evident how the poison of hatred and violence revolving around “faith” Has been made prevalent in the society recently.
Besides of communal violece, the rank of India in World Press Freedom is 161 out of 180, last year it was 150th. This implies the increasing corruption in the media industry under the ruling party. Media manipulated facts have been a great source of spreading the rightist propaganda recently.
