The internet was NOT having it when this story broke, with multiple fans and Lilly Jay herself targeting Ariana after rumours of her relationship with Ethan came out. She claims that Ariana doesn’t care that she was ‘ruining a marriage’ and this was a similar reaction from multiple netizens as well.
A lot of Twitter users referenced her song break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored that she is embodying the persona of a homewrecker without a care for the collateral damage. The internet has been extremely brutal on the beginnings of the relationship brewing between the two Wicked co-stars.
Society Bias and Woman-Blaming
The internet has not shied away from targeting Grande’s actions as immoral and borderline cruel, Slater’s ex-wife not holding back on her words. Ariana was being demonised tremendously on social media, for having a relationship with Ethan during his divorce proceedings. It’s rather ironic how there has been little to no backlash directed at Ethan himself.
It is a very interesting societal dynamic that is designed to blame the woman. It exposes a number of problems not just in the media but among fans as well. Instead of holding both of them accountable, the woman in this equation is being considered the villain. Nonetheless, Ariana seems to be rather unphased as she enjoys her time with Ethan and reports claim that Ethan may have moved in with her.

According to reports by a few sources, Ethan Slater had spoken to his friends, as well as soon-to-be-ex-wife Lilly Jay that he is now living with Ariana Grande, and is very happy with her. Both Grande and Slater are reported to be enjoying spending time together after news of their meeting for the first time and working together came out over a year ago at the Wicked set. It’s important to note that until there is an official statement from either Slater or Grande or both, everything is pure speculation. However, for the time being, evidence suggests that Ariana and Ethan are enjoying each other’s company.
