Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa of Kannada has been charged with a felony after a 48-year-old woman was allegedly attacked by one of his pet dogs.

A female doctor, Dr. Amita Jindal, has officially filed a complaint against the well-known Kannada actor Darshan and the other individual staff present over there, following an alleged attack by three of the actor’s dogs.

What is the reason for FIR?

Actor Darshan was identified by Dr. Amita as the second accused in this incident when she filed the complaint at the R.R. Nagar police station. This upsetting incident occurred in Bengaluru on October 28 after the woman parked her car close to the actor’s RR Nagar home in preparation for going to a nearby World Stroke Day event held at the Sparsh Hospital.

Dr. Amita’s statement, which describes the regrettable dog attack associated with the actor’s pets, is the basis for the lawsuit that has been filed.

The woman’s car was parked in a vacant space next to Darshan Thoogudeepa’s residence when it appeared that the actor’s dog bit her. This development, which clarified the series of events leading up to the regrettable incident, was announced by the police on Wednesday.

What action was taken by the authorities?

According to Asian News International (ANI), an official case has been filed under section 289 of the Indian Penal Code at the Bengaluru police station, RR. This section is especially about careless behaviour animals. The primary accused in this case is the person whose identity has not been revealed but is in charge of the dogs’ care. Then, it was announced that Darshan Thoogudeepa, a well-known Kannada actor, was the second accused in this specific case.

The authorities filed a formal complaint (FIR) against the actor in response to the alleged attack on the woman. While attending an event in RR Nagar, the victim came across the upsetting incident after parking her car close to the actor’s home.

Assertion by the woman in her statement.

The woman asserted in her formal complaint that she had seen an individual with three dogs standing close to her parked car when she returned from the event. The person allegedly refused her request when she went up to him and asked him to move the dogs so she could get to her car. There was a disagreement between the two of them, mostly about who should have parked the car in that specific spot.

The situation worsened when the woman insisted on moving the dogs, resulting in a heated argument between her and the person responsible for their upkeep. This argument, which started because they couldn’t agree on where to park, soon became heated. Unfortunately, during this flared exchange of words, the dogs allegedly attacked the woman.

According to the woman’s statement, this story describes an incident that started as a straightforward request to make room for her to get to her car, but it soon spiralled out of control into a heated argument that, regrettably, ended with the dogs hurting her. The series of events shows how a simple parking problem escalated into a regrettable and upsetting altercation that left the woman physically harmed.

As the conclusion:

Actor Darshan owned the dogs. The police claim that they bit her and tore her clothes. “The actor and the caretaker of the dogs have been booked under Section 289 (Negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the Indian Penal Code based on the woman’s complaint,” a senior police officer stated.

In the context of this legal filing, the names of the caretaker and the actor denote a joint liability or shared responsibility concerning the incident involving the reported dog attack. The goal of the legal process is to address both parties’ roles and actions regarding the circumstances that preceded the regrettable incident.

The fact that legal action has been taken highlights the seriousness of the situation and emphasises how crucial accountability is to guarantee the safety and well-being of community members. It highlights the crucial part pet owners play in averting unanticipated mishaps and encouraging a secure atmosphere for everybody.
