Election Campaigning in 2 states, Jharkhand and Maharashtra comes to an End, Voting to be held on November 20

Assembly elections in two states are set to be held on November 20. In Maharashtra and Jharkhand the state assembly election is scheduled to be held on Wednesday. The votes will be counted November 23.

Maharashtra Elections

The election campaigning in Maharashtra got concluded on Monday. The state assembly in Maharashtra is taking place in a single phase for which the campaign got over on Monday. In Maharashtra assembly elections are to be held on November 20 over 288 seats.

 The dates for the election were announced in the month of October. The state assembly polls saw intense campaigning from the contesting political parties. The fight for seats in the election is between the two alliances Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi. The election campaigning in Maharashtra saw many prominent leaders doing rallies , public meetings to woo the voters.

The manifesto released by the various political parties made several promises to the voters. As per the official notification released by the Election Commission of India for the state assembly election in Maharashtra the total assembly constituency seat is 288. Among the total 288 assembly seats, 29 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 25 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

The total candidates contesting the election for 288 seats are 4136. The total number of polling stations is 1,00,186 in which all women managed is 406 and the polling stations managed by PwD is 274.

The result of the election will be out on November 23.

Election in Jharkhand

 The election campaigning in Jharkhand also ended on Monday for the second phase of election. The polls for the second phase are going to be held on November 20. The election campaigning in the state was full-fledged with prominent leaders from both the NDA and the INDIA bloc took part in the campaigning in the state.

The Jharkhand Elections announced are to take place in two phases. The voting for the first phase of the polls got over on November 13. The voter turnout in the election for phase 1 was over 65 per cent in the state. With the total assembly strength of 81 seats, polling was held for 43 seats in Phase 1. For the remaining 38 seats the voting will take place on Wednesday.

According to the data released the total electors in Jharkhand for phase 2 is around 1.23 crores. The total polling stations for phase 2 is 14,218 in which the polling stations all managed by women are 239. The total number of candidates fighting the election in Phase 2 is 528.

The Assembly Elections in the state was last held in the year 2019.
