Elections are to be conducted in two phases for 81 seats, on November 13 and 20, and votes will be counted on November 23. The major contestants of the elections are from the parties of the BJP and JMM, resulting in a battle between the NDA and INDIA blocs. While JMM has recently finalised its seat sharing, the BJP released its manifesto on November 3.
Sankalp Patra
It is named Sankalp Patra, which has various reforms to be taken if the BJP is elected in the upcoming elections. It was launched by the union Home Minister, Amit Shah, at Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has criticised Hemant Soren, the current chief minister of Jharkhand, saying that under his regime the women’s and tribals safety has been ignored and that the BJP’s manifesto fills this gap.
Manifestations
Sankalp Patra is set to address the issues of the backward classes of Jharkhand, such as tribals, Dalits, the poor, etc. To celebrate the state’s 25th year, the party has laid 25 resolutions for its development in the future. The slogan of Roti Beti Maati says about the main goal to be achieved by the BJP. It has asserted that the Uniform Civil Code will certainly be introduced, but the tribal customs will be excluded from it to secure their culture and practices, which are already empowering women.
The Sankalp Patra further manifested: to establish a commission for rehabilitation of people displaced by industrial and mining activities, to create around 5lakh employment opportunities with a fair share of government jobs, the illegal paper leak issues will be investigated effectively, and such other measures for immigrants. The women of the state were promised to be empowered through the Gogo Didi scheme, which ensures women of Rs. 2,100 per month, as well as other assistance of subsidies.
The BJP has stated its efficiency of state development under its governance. Stating its goals always aligns with development and asserts to secure the sanctity of the state, by preventing infiltration through illegal migration, such as the case of illegal migration of people from Bangladesh.
