Some Interesting fact about Lord Vishnu...

It is said that whenever there is a crisis on earth, God takes incarnation and removes that crisis. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu have taken incarnation on earth many times.

Today we will tell you about the 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Out of these, 23 incarnations have already taken place on earth while the 24th incarnation is yet to take place in the form of 'Kalki Avatar'.

Out of these 24 incarnations, 10 incarnations are considered to be the main incarnations of Lord Vishnu.  These are Matsya avatar, Kurma avatar, Varaha avatar, Narasimha avatar, Vaman avatar, Parashurama avatar, Rama avatar, Krishna avatar, Buddha avatar and Kalki avatar.

According to the Puranas, Lord Vishnu took the Matsya avatar to save the world from destruction. When the time came, Lord Vishnu took the form of a fish and preached philosophy to King Satyavrat, which is famous as Matsya Purana.

According to religious texts, Lord Vishnu took the form of Kurma (tortoise) and helped in the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean). Lord Vishnu's Kurma avatar is also known as Kachhapa avatar. Mount Mandarachal started rotating rapidly on the huge back of Lord Kurma and thus the Samudra Manthan was completed.

According to religious scriptures, Lord Vishnu took his second incarnation as Varaah. In ancient times, when the demon Hiranyaksha took away the earth and hid it in the ocean, Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Varaah from Brahma's nose.

Lord Vishnu killed the demon king Hiranyakashyapa in the form of Narasimha. When Hiranyakashyapa was about to kill Prahlad himself, Lord Vishnu appeared from the pillar in the form of Narasimha and killed Hiranyakashyapa with his nails.

According to the Bhagavata Purana, Lord Vishnu took the form of Vamana to return Devraja Indra to heaven. As the son of Sage Kashyapa and Goddess Aditi, Lord Vishnu was born as a dwarf Brahmin. Known as the Vamana Avatar, he was the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
